This journey is more than just an art retreat; it's an invitation to lose yourself in the timeless beauty of Jodhpur. Through sketching, we'll capture the spirit of this ancient city, its vibrant culture, and the stories etched into the blue-washed walls. Lose yourself in the captivating charm of Jodhpur, the Blue City, on this unique sketchbook journey.
Reside in a restored Haveli, a traditional home with breathtaking views of the majestic, formidable Mehrangarh Fort, in the beating heart of this ancient Marwar capital. With a focus on art, we will draw on the cultural experiences we encounter as well as meet local artisans. We will attend the extraordinary Riff Music Festival in the fort and the Jodhpur Arts Week.
As a final treat, we will venture to the Thar desert for a night under the stars, ride camels at sunset and drink in the tranquillity. Here we will also marvel in the beauty of the Sachiya Mata Jain Temple.
The labyrinth blue streets invite you to wander and explore, each corner revealing a new story. The air hums with the rhythm of daily life, the vibrant markets overflowing with colour, and the aroma of spiced chai fills your senses.

A Tapestry of History: The Wandering Sketchbook
7 - 16th February 2026
Join me for a sketching journey through the heart of Rajasthan, where we'll capture the essence of India's vibrant history and culture. Our adventure begins in Udaipur, the "City of Lakes," nestled amidst the Aravalli hills and anchored by the serene Lake Pichola.
Udaipur: Majestic palaces, markets, ancient temples, artisans and everyday street life.
Temple and Street Life: We'll explore ancient temples, revelling in the delicate carvings and devotional atmosphere. We'll also capture the everyday scenes of Udaipur's streets, where cows wander freely amidst the historical backdrop, and people go about their daily routines, creating a unique juxtaposition of ancient and modern.
Bundi: A favourite place of mine, the forgotten gem of Rajasthan, always calls me back. Here, in this 14th-century city, time stands still, and every corner whispers stories from the past.
Looming above the city is Taragarh Fort. This extraordinary, decaying palace, described by Rudyard Kipling as “the work of goblins rather than of men” almost seems to grow out of the rock of the hillside it stands on.
The town's stepwells and blue lime-washed houses, clustered along narrow lanes, will be another captivating subject for our sketchbooks. Let’s explore the endless creative inspiration.
Jaipur: The Pink City's Vibrant Energy. Our journey concludes in Jaipur, the "Pink City," where we'll immerse ourselves in its vibrant energy and creative spirit.
